Years ago, after graduating from college, I set off on what I envisioned would be a long career in engineering. I loved systems, creative solutions, and perceptible results. After twelve successful years in the field however, I discovered there was a difference between perceptible results and physical results. I had a desire to see my work product have an impact in a more prolific and personal way.
I had long pursued my interest in investing with a close study of markets, the development of a proprietary automated futures trading platform and through the foundation of my own investment club. However, in 2008 I made the career transition official by completing the Financial Planning program at the University of Portland, Pamplin School of Business and founding Skyline Financial Northwest.
The attention to detail, research skills, and understanding of systems that I learned as an engineer still serve me well today as I help people navigate their financial situations. It is my desire to empower people through finance so that they can worry less about life’s obstacles and more about the people and causes they care about.
